Description
SANTA CLARITA -- Santa Clarita residents had the opportunity to relive the old days of the wild west at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival.
The event was hosted by the legendary Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio, which is only open to the public during the festival.
Every year the festival brings in more than 10,000 visitors from not only the Santa Clarita Valley but people from all over the nation.
More than 15 acts entertained visitors on the multiple stages set up throughout the ranch.
There were free activities for kids, a food court and multiple vendors with not only handmade items but also old style western clothing.
History was the main theme of the weekend, taking people back in time to truly experience the culture of the old west.
Saddle making, horse shoeing and wool spinning were just some of the free activities visitors could take part in during the day.
The Melody Ranch also opened the doors of its Motion Picture Studio Museum which houses some of the most memorable memorabilia from movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean; On Stranger Tides, Django Unchained and The Hulk.
