Tanya M. Barrientes, of the 172 Infantry Brigade, received the Bronze Star on Monday, April 23, 2012. An alumna of Cypress College's Mortuary Science Program, Barrientes is currently serving in Afghanistan, handling Mortuary Affairs as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
