Long Beach City College President Eloy Ortiz Oakley kicked-off the Annual State of the College Address and Luncheon on Friday, January 6, at LBCC's Hall of Champions talking about education and its impact on the economy. He also focused on numerous campus programs including the Long Beach College Promise initiative with Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach Unified, new academic programs and scholarship opportunities, and the 2,000 degrees and certificates that LBCC awarded to students in 2011.
