Cyber security and risk are areas of concern for individuals and organizations, both in the private sector, where Internet hacking and identify theft plagues online and offline commerce, and in the public sector, especially national defense. The proliferation of available data drives demand for data security, authentication and integration tools. Research by the California Community Colleges' Centers of Excellence and Institute for the Future explores the future of the Security-related workforce. In this session, research findings of trends in security industry and workforce will be presented, followed by Q&A. Attendees will form groups to discuss the impact of Security's paradigm shift and its impact on ICT instruction, specifically in regards to industry partnerships, curriculum changes, and education pathways. This session will lay the foundation for further conversation and action planning on how to prepare students for future Security-related work.

It will incorporate a presentation given by the Centers of Excellence and the Institute for the Future, audience discussion of the findings, and facilitated group activities to seek attendees'input on challenges and possible solutions.
