Description

Electronic Portfolios (ePortfolios) provide an electronic means to document and assess student learning outcomes and student competencies, particularly those competencies that are difficult to document through existing competency assessment measures such as transcripts. ePortfolios are ideal for ICT students, as they allow students to collect, analyze, reflect upon and present documentation of their learning using digital artifacts. They can be used by students to showcase their education, career and personal achievements as they seek employment. Integrated into a program of study, they can also demonstrate development and growth over time.

This presentation will provide an overview of how ePortfolios can be used in ICT, and discuss current usage in the ePortfolio California project, a pilot project testing ePortfolios with K-20 educational entities statewide.
